Forgings for corrosive environments - coated carbon steel, stainless steel, superalloys!
Further examples for stainless steels
1.4401 (V4A), 1.4404 (316L), 1.4435 (316L), 1.4301,1.4307 (304L, V2A), 1.4462 (F51, Duplex), 1.4571 (F316Ti), 1.3964 (Alloy 50) and
NiCrMoV-based high-grade alloy steel such as 1.6959 or similar for demanding applications and nickel-based alloys for high temperature environments like power plants.
Forged parts for (examples):
Valves, valve parts, valve housings, high-pressure valves, hydraulic valves, nuclear valves
Pipe flanges, boiler construction, pipeline construction, Y-pipes, forged pipe angles, fittings, fittings, fork pieces, pipe connections, Y-pieces, T-pieces, L-pieces
corrosion-resistant components, highly corrosion-resistant forgings for seawater desalination, urea processing, petrochemicals, drilling rigs, firefighting equipment, naval boats, underwater technology, defense technology
Wear parts, drill heads, drill bits, chain parts, rollers, bearings, connecting parts, fasteners, sockets, joint sockets, eye bolts, nuts, engine parts, hydraulic components
Drop forge, steel and titanium forging - forging of special alloys and special steel
Forgings made from Duplex, Hastelloy®, Inconel®, Incoloy®, Monel® and titanium alloys
Niobium and vanadium are used as alloying additives for stainless steels and non-ferrous alloys such as superalloys, as correspondingly alloyed materials are characterized by increased mechanical strength.
Applications range from nuclear technology and aircraft construction to coins and jewelry to superconductors. Titanium and molybdenum not only promote the strength of steels, but also their corrosion resistance, tungsten promotes temperature resistance.
Examples of forgeable special alloys and special steels
NiCrMoV-based nickel-chrome alloys such as 1.6959
Nitrogen-alloyed duplex steel such as X2CrNiMoN 22-5-3 (1.4462/F51)
or super duplex steel such as X2CrNiMoN 25-7-4 (1.4410/ F53)
Tungsten-molybdenum alloys such as X10CrWMoVNb 9-2 (1.4901/F92)
Titanium-stabilized chrome-nickel steels such as 1.4571/F316Ti
KB Schmiedetechnik, a drop forge in Western Germany, is manufacturing forgings for the construction of boiler systems including tube connections for piping like fittings, flanges and complex manifolds, offshore, marine, shipbuilding

mechanical safety components: closed-die grain forged
Grain flow forging for critical applications
Forgings have a grain flow, like the fiber structure of wood, caused by plastic deformation during the forging process. Proper orientation of grain flow improves the physical properties of forged parts.
Everyday examples for forgings are car wheel bolts or screw nuts. Further examples include all kind of fasteners and hoists including forged hooks, eyebolts, and chain links. Forgings are also part of complex assemblies like crawler track chains, articulation sockets for busses or trains, hydraulic systems and lifting gears, as well gearwheels (forged blanks), pinions, rollers, holders and supports.
Made in Germany of European primary material
KB Schmiedetechnik GmbH is a Western German drop forge, specialized in small series production of closed die forgings from 200g to 130Kg unit weight and up to 600mm length of all forgeable steel grades and superalloys.
